Musica Viva Australia and Ethnic Communities Council Musica Viva Australia and Ethnic Communities Council are pleased to announce that Musica Viva’s innovative singing workshop for seniors, Music for Life, is coming to Orange. Come Together - Music for Life will involve two 10 week sessions of singing workshops for seniors, culminating in a performance by participants for family and friends to celebrate their achievements. Each workshop is 2 hours long (including a coffee break), and will take place on Tuesday mornings (10am - 12pm) at Orange Senior Citizens and Pensioners Centre (77 Kite St, Orange), commencing on the 12th of October. Come along to the launch to hear more about the program and participate in a mini-workshop. Participants don’t have to be able to sing, read music or be a member of the senior citizens club. You just need to be willing to give it a go, and have fun! People from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are particularly encouraged to join and share their musical culture with the seniors of Orange. Participants are asked to take part in a study that is running alongside the program, which is investigating whether participation in the workshops has any effect on health and well-being. Transport can be provided free of charge if required. For community transport, you will need to be assessed by CareWest before you begin the workshops. To register your interest in participating, please contact the Musica Viva Creativity and Ageing Manager, Jenny Ainsworth on 02-8394 6666 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
